Happiness is definitely a free podcast from the Barenaked Ladies. I've been having such fun listening to them (I just downloaded all of them yesterday). If you don't have them yet, they are free on iTunes or you can subscribe via XML on the www.bnlmusic.com website. You get to hear about great moments in Barenaked History, the process of recording the new album, as well as previews of songs from the new album. And other rambling bits of random funniness.

I'm also wishing I still lived in Georgia so that I could go on the Ships and Dip Barenaked Ladies Cruise! How cool would that be!

And, their new album comes out in September. However, there is a three song preview available on iTunes for just 99¢.

hootie and the cheerleaders

We just got back from a free on base concert by Hootie and the Blowfish (everytime I try to type that my fingers type Hottie....too funny). They were really rockin....a very excellent show. They did all of their hits...along with a lot of covers almost BNL style (really rockin...but not as funny as BNL)–fight the power, 3 is the magic number, among others. Some others were that country song that goes ""you don't have to call me darlin....darlin......"", and ""talkin bout looooove....loooove....loooove"".

Another part of the show (which was brought to us by the Band of the Air Force Reserve–the band we left back in February) was the New England Patriots Cheerleaders. And here, I have to rant a bit. Is it just me or are cheerleaders outfits getting smaller and smaller? I mean, give it another year or two and they'll be wearing skimpy bikini's to cheer. Is it really necessary to show as much skin as possible? I felt like I was watching a strip show. A really unnecessary part of my evening.

Anyway, all in all a fun evening.....off to bed!
