Sanshoku-don means tri-colored rice bowl. I was inspired by this post on Blue Lotus's blog. She always has an interesting and delicious-looking array of japanese food. I used brown rice topped with ground turkey, spinach and scrambled eggs. The ground turkey was seasoned with mirin and soy sauce. The spinach was sauteéd in sesame oil with sesame seeds and soy sauce, and the eggs were simply scrambled. It makes for a lovely dish with delicious flavor. We ate ours with miso soup on the side (not homemade, from a pouch).
